MCAL Playoff Action Kicks Off Across Marin

The playoff season’s intensity is obvious as teams from all over Marin County get ready for crucial MCAL matchups. The schedule features some compelling contests that will decide which schools move forward.

Baseball Takes Center Stage

Baseball fans in Mill Valley and Kentfield have plenty to look forward to. Marin Catholic faces Tam in what should be a heated battle between two perennial contenders.

San Rafael travels to challenge Archie Williams, with both squads fighting for a spot in the semifinals. Stakes feel high, and you can sense the anticipation building.

The baseball playoff picture will get clearer when the semifinal games happen at Redwood in Larkspur and San Marin in Novato. These fields have long served as backdrops for championship-level baseball and always seem to attract fans from Fairfax to Tiburon.

North Coast Section Playoffs Bring Regional Competition

The NCS playoffs push the competition beyond Marin, with local schools facing tough opponents from around the Bay Area. These matchups give us a sense of how Marin stacks up against the rest of Northern California.

Division 1 Matchups

Tam will travel to Danville to take on Monte Vista. Meanwhile, Concord’s De La Salle heads to Marin Catholic in Kentfield for a clash between top-tier programs.

Fans from Corte Madera to Strawberry will keep a close eye on these results. In another Division 1 contest, Redwood High School in Larkspur hosts Maria Carrillo, giving local fans a chance to catch playoff action without leaving Marin.

Division 2 Competition

Terra Linda will make the trip to San Francisco’s Paul Goode Field to face University. That cross-bay matchup should be interesting to watch.

Several Marin institutions are represented in Division 2 play, including:

  • Marin Academy from San Rafael
  • Branson from Ross
  • Marin Catholic competing in multiple divisions
  • Larkspur’s Redwood High School keeps its playoff run going, hosting a Division 2 contest against Irvington. The venue is quickly becoming a staple for championship athletics in Marin County.

Golf Tournament Rounds Out the Schedule

If you love golf and live anywhere from Sausalito to Novato, the NCS Division 2 golf tournament at Foxtail Golf Club in Rohnert Park is probably on your radar. Several Marin schools are sending their top golfers to this tough course, so you’ll see players representing everywhere from Point Reyes Station to Belvedere.

Playoff season is rolling along, and Marin County’s athletic talent is right in the spotlight. Fans from West Marin to the Tiburon Peninsula might want to catch these contests and cheer on the next wave of Marin athletes as they chase championship dreams.
