Event Overview and What You’ll Find

Our Bright Future is built for everyday Marin residents—accessible, useful, and a little bit fun. Novato’s hosting, but North Marin Community Services, the County of Marin, MCE, and Ride and Drive Clean all chipped in. Bring your family or a neighbor and wander through the outdoor displays. You’ll get to chat with local experts who really know Marin’s quirky climate and the different housing types, from Fairfax’s hillsides to Novato’s flatlands.

Curious about home upgrades? Contractors will be there to answer questions and share tips. You can learn about rebates, financial incentives, and how energy-efficient tech can lower your monthly bills. There’s also a chance to check out sustainable transportation programs, with advice on how to swap old commutes for cleaner options—without draining your wallet.

Key Exhibits and Demonstrations

  • Heat pump water heaters and other efficient home-energy upgrades
  • Induction cooking—a smart, energy-saving alternative to gas
  • Solar systems and battery storage for home energy resilience
  • HVAC upgrades and smart controls that actually fit Marin’s shifting weather
  • Electric vehicles (EVs) and e-bikes with test drives and expert advice
  • Guidance on rebates, incentives, and how to figure out funding for home improvements

Marin’s Sustainability Team and the Climate and Sustainability Division will bring a dollhouse model. It’s a hands-on way to see how home electrification and energy upgrades really work. The event also highlights programs that help folks figure out and install these changes, with support from Marin’s own cities and nonprofits.

Community Partners, Family Activities, and Where to Go from Here

The City of Novato’s hosting, with help from North Marin Community Services, the County of Marin, MCE, and Ride and Drive Clean. It’s a real team effort across Marin—San Rafael, Sausalito, Tiburon, Corte Madera, and more. If you make a day of it, you can grab food or ice cream at the event, then picnic at Novato Civic Green nearby.

Kids and families can dive into Sustainable Marin Schools activities. These hands-on projects get K–12 students involved and shine a light on what Marin’s schools are already doing for sustainability. The whole thing is about practical, affordable steps—showing how families, whether in Bel Marin Key, Terra Linda, or out on the West Marin coast, can be part of Marin’s clean energy movement.

Programs and Opportunities for Residents

  • Hands-on demonstrations and free advice come straight from clean-energy professionals. They’ll focus on home-improvement projects you’ll actually find in Marin homes.
