The new team wanted to hold onto the bar’s history and character. At the same time, they’ve added updated amenities and offerings to surprise and delight folks from Larkspur, Corte Madera, Tiburon, and honestly, whoever wanders in.

A New Chapter for a Larkspur Landmark

The Silver Peso spent years as a steady presence in the Larkspur community. Now, it’s opening its doors again to loyal regulars and curious newcomers.

New owners Tommy and Shannon Lamanna bought the historic building in late 2024. They didn’t just give it a quick facelift—they invested a lot to breathe new life into the place.

Their approach went way beyond décor. They tackled structural and aesthetic improvements, making sure the Silver Peso will keep standing strong for a long time.

Preserving the Soul of the Silver Peso

The team had one big goal: keep the bar’s soul intact. Managing partners Max Perry of Corte Madera and Conor Flaherty of Tiburon, who already have a good reputation from Sam’s Anchor Cafe, took over the lease earlier this year.

They worked closely with Rebel Lee, the former owner who ran Silver Peso for over a decade after buying it in 2015. Lee’s advice and experience shaped the renovation, making sure the heart of the bar stayed front and center.

You can see the balance between old and new all over the place. When you walk in, you’ll notice:

  • New Flooring: A solid, fresh base for future memories.
  • Refreshed Siding: Keeping that classic charm alive.
  • A Fresh Coat of Paint: The inside looks brighter, but still feels familiar.
  • Upgraded Bathrooms: Finally, some modern comfort.
  • New Pool Tables: Perfect for neighborhood showdowns, whether you’re from Greenbrae or Kentfield.
  • Rejuvenated Shuffleboard: A little nostalgia, back in action.
  • Upgraded Televisions: For the game, the news, or whatever’s on.

The owners keep saying they want the place to “look and feel exactly the same.” That’s not just talk—they get what makes the Silver Peso special. It’s a gathering spot, comfortable and familiar, for everyone from Sausalito to Mill Valley.

Beyond the Refresh: New Tastes and Times

It’s not just the space that’s new. The Silver Peso now has more to offer, starting with the taps.

They’ve added a wider lineup of craft beers, including some popular IPAs and easy-drinking Kolsch-style brews. If you’re into cocktails, there’s a new chalkboard menu with classics—think signature margaritas, balanced negronis, and martinis that actually taste like something.

Food’s getting an upgrade, too. For the reopening, the Humble Cheeseburger food truck will be outside, serving up bites that pair perfectly with a pint. The plan is to keep working with local food vendors for special events and weekends, so you can always count on a good meal with your drink.

Practical Details for Your Return

The Silver Peso is back at the usual spot: 450 Magnolia Ave., Larkspur. Regular hours run noon to 2 a.m. on weekdays.

On weekends, doors open earlier at 10 a.m. and stay open until 2 a.m. So, whether you want to unwind on a lazy Wednesday or dive into the weekend crowd, they’ve got you covered.

Curious about what’s next for Silver Peso? They’re launching a new website, silverpesomarin.com, later this week.

You’ll find hours, specials, food truck visits, and event updates there. The reopening isn’t just about fresh paint; it’s about keeping Silver Peso at the heart of Larkspur—and, honestly, Marin County too. Expect the same friendly vibe, just with a few fun twists.
