New Lone Mountain Housing Plans Resubmitted in San Francisco

Permits have been officially resubmitted for a brand-new four-story infill residential project located at 2740 McAllister Street within San Francisco’s vibrant Lone Mountain neighborhood. Sponsored by Min Qui of MQ Investment and Management Inc., this upcoming development aims to transform a currently vacant lot into a thriving multi-family housing property.

The updated application showcases a completely engineer-designed structure that successfully replaces an earlier proposal drafted by Stanley Saitowitz | Natoma Architects. As urban planners look closely at regional developments, many visitors also enjoy exploring neighboring communities like San Rafael when traveling through the greater Bay Area.

The Evolution of 2740 McAllister Street

From Demolition to Modern Infill Housing

The targeted 0.09-acre site previously housed a single-family residence that was demolished back in late 2020 following an initial approval process. Now, the refreshed project plan stands ready to maximize the parcel’s residential potential.

Standing tall at 39 feet, the upcoming structure is projected to yield roughly 5,300 total square feet of usable interior space. This thoughtfully calculated layout includes approximately 4,200 square feet explicitly dedicated to modern housing.

Engineering, Aesthetics, and Parking Amenities

South San Francisco-based Innovative Consulting Engineer handled the building’s updated design, introducing a distinctive vernacular box-like aesthetic complemented by a top-floor setback. The striking exterior features a combination of laminated-panel finishes, horizontal cement board siding, and a contemporary perforated-metal garage door.

The property will incorporate a ground-floor garage spanning about 350 square feet to serve future residents. This convenient two-car garage will be reserved exclusively for the development’s largest unit, which spans both the third and fourth floors.

In addition to vehicular parking, the complex will provide dedicated storage space for two bicycles to encourage eco-friendly commuting habits. Future residents and curious onlookers tracking Bay Area architecture can easily plan their regional travels using comprehensive travel tools.

Neighborhood Impact and Future Outlook

Addressing Urban Housing Needs in San Francisco

By turning a vacant lot into a multi-unit residential building, this project contributes positively to local housing availability. Infill developments like this one reflect ongoing efforts to optimize land use across the urban landscape.

The introduction of three distinct apartments will bring fresh residential energy to the Lone Mountain corridor. Stakeholders and community members anticipate steady progress as the newly engineered plans move forward through municipal review channels.
