The Vision Behind Northern California’s First Inland Surf Destination

Spanning 25 acres, the ambitious project is designed to be a comprehensive year-round hub for adventure seekers and relaxation enthusiasts alike. Visitors will find plenty of amenities, making it a great complement to traditional Northern California getaways such as a weekend trip to Stinson Beach.

Core Features and Wave Technology

At the heart of the resort will be a massive five-acre surf lagoon powered by advanced Wavegarden technology. This system is capable of generating up to 1,000 waves per hour tailored for surfers of all skill levels.

The facility aims to make surfing highly accessible through structured youth programs, competitive events, and specialized adaptive training for para-surfing athletes. Guests can also enjoy man-made beaches, soothing spas, refreshing cold plunges, and vibrant waterside dining options.

Accommodations and Additional Recreation

To ensure visitors can stay and play, the complex will feature a 100-room hotel alongside more than 20 private bungalows. These options will provide comfortable lodging comparable to finding great Marin hotels for a coastal vacation.

Beyond catching waves, guests can explore a nearly 28,400-square-foot surf center, an outdoor skate plaza, climbing walls, and a dedicated sports hub. A chic rooftop bar and retail spaces will round out the lively village atmosphere.

The project is seamlessly integrated into the expansive Placer One master-planned community, which also features residential housing and a future Sacramento State satellite campus. Developers are targeting a late spring groundbreaking with an anticipated construction timeline of 18 to 24 months.

Ultimately, the resort is expected to create local jobs and draw travelers from all over looking for a novel outdoor experience. It represents an exciting evolution in Northern California recreational tourism.
