The Dramatic Second-Half Showdown
Kaya Rosa Strikes Again
The scoreless deadlock was finally broken in the 78th minute when San Francisco’s Elsie Parigi netted the game’s opening goal. However, the lead was short-lived as Pacific answered back just 97 seconds later.
Star forward Kaya Rosa calmly converted a penalty kick in the 79th minute to level the score. This remarkable achievement marked her team-leading eighth goal of the season, tying a prestigious program record.
Defensive Brilliance Under Pressure
Freshman goalkeeper Ava Wells put on a defensive masterclass by racking up a career-high 13 saves. Her stellar efforts kept the Tigers alive against a heavy 21-shot attack from the Dons.
Defenders like Gianna Gagliano, Faylinn Berkowitz, and Brooklyn Cornish played the full match to anchor the backline. Their combined grit ensured that Pacific walked away with a hard-earned point in conference play.
Looking Ahead to Upcoming Matches
With this gritty draw, Pacific moves its overall record to 1-11-2 and stands at 0-3-2 in West Coast Conference play. Rosa continues her historic scoring surge, having netted seven goals across her last eight appearances.
The Tigers will now return home to Knoles Field to host Pepperdine on October 24. Supporters are eagerly anticipating another stellar performance as the team defends its turf.
