Experience the Retro Magic at Lagoon Island

The best part about this summer pop-up is that admission is completely free for everyone, making it an accessible outing for families and friends. For those who do not own a pair of quad or inline skates, rentals are conveniently available on-site for a modest $5 fee.

The rink operates on a flexible schedule to accommodate both afternoon sessions and evening outings. You can visit on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., or extend your weekend fun on Fridays through Sundays, when the rink stays open until 10 p.m.

More Than Just Skating

Beyond the joy of skating, the Lagoon Island site offers plenty of other ways to enjoy your time under the sun or stars. Attendees are invited to explore local art installations, challenge their friends to various lawn games, or snap a memorable picture with the giant inflatable skate that serves as the event’s centerpiece.

When you are planning your trip, consider making a full day of it by exploring other San Rafael attractions nearby. With free parking provided in the Veterans’ Memorial Auditorium lot, it is easier than ever to enjoy a worry-free day of entertainment.

Join the Fun at Themed Weekend Nights

The excitement truly ramps up on weekend evenings, when the rink hosts special themed skate nights. You can look forward to immersive experiences like “70s Boogie Wonderland” and the vibrant “Barbiecore” night, all perfectly curated with a live DJ to keep the energy high.

We encourage all attendees to lean into the spirit of the event by wearing costumes, which are highly welcomed on the rink. Just remember that for safety reasons, long capes and gowns are prohibited, so please choose your disco attire accordingly.
