Details of the Recent Assaults

The investigation began after authorities received reports of individuals being struck by projectiles fired from a moving vehicle. These attacks occurred between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at two distinct locations within San Jose, causing non-life-threatening injuries to those targeted.

Investigators were quickly able to connect these San Jose incidents to an additional paintball assault that had taken place in Milpitas earlier that same day. This pattern of behavior suggested a targeted, mobile approach that required immediate intervention by local officers.

Apprehension and Charges

Police were successful in locating and stopping the suspects’ vehicle in Milpitas shortly after the crimes were reported. Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered a semi-automatic paintball gun and a significant amount of additional ammunition.

The individuals involved have now been processed through the legal system:

  • Alfonso Garcia, 37, was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
  • The 16-year-old accomplice was transported to Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall to face charges of assault with a deadly weapon.
  • Broadening the Investigation

Detectives working the case believe that this duo may be responsible for a wider range of similar attacks throughout the region. Because these incidents involve unpredictable behavior, law enforcement is treating the matter with high priority to ensure public safety.

If you or someone you know has information regarding these events, please contact the San Jose Police Department directly. Staying informed and alert is key, whether you are exploring bustling cities or visiting the quieter places to go here in Marin County.
