San Anselmo 2024 Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony

Get ready to immerse yourself in the holiday spirit at the San Anselmo 2024 Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony! This festive event will take place on Saturday, December 7th at Imagination Park, located at 535 San Anselmo Avenue. The festivities kick off at 5:00 PM, but be sure to arrive early as free train rides begin at 4:00 PM.

Hosted by the San Anselmo Chamber of Commerce and the Town of San Anselmo, this magical evening promises a night of whimsy and joy for all ages. The event features an opening ceremony by the Pack 50 Cub Scouts, seasonal music performed by the Archie Williams Jazz Band, and free refreshments including cocoa and cookies. Santa will make a grand entrance at the beginning of the event, so don’t forget your camera for selfies with the man himself from the North Pole.

For the third year in a row, an electric trackless train adorned with festive lights will be offering free rides up and down the Avenue from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM. This is a perfect opportunity to enjoy the holiday decorations and soak in the festive atmosphere.

In conjunction with the Tree Lighting Ceremony, San Anselmo Avenue will be closed to traffic from Tunstead to Tamalpais from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM on December 7th. This allows for a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees. Before or after stopping by to see Santa, take some time to do local holiday shopping and enjoy a meal at one of the delectable downtown eateries. Let’s shop local and be merry together!

Admission to the event is free, making it an affordable and delightful outing for families and friends. In case of heavy rain or bad weather conditions, please check the event status after 1:00 PM on December 7th by visiting the San Anselmo Holiday Lighting page.
