State Championship Highlights from Marin County Swimmers
Athletes from Marin battled in A and B finals. Several posted personal bests and meaningful finishes at the California state meet in Clovis.

Marin Academy shines: Cameron Forbes and William Canori
Marin Academy sophomore Cameron Forbes made two A-final appearances. She brought home bronze in the 200-yard freestyle and placed sixth in the 100 backstroke.
Forbes touched third in the 200 free with a 1:48.58, just missing her prelims mark of 1:48.30, which had seeded her second. Later, she finished sixth in the 100 back with a 54.49.
Last season, Forbes only swam the 100 free at state, where she tied for 12th. This year’s range of events shows real growth for the San Rafael-based program.

He also swam the 500 free prelims and placed 29th in 4:28.34. Novato’s Leo Hernandez competed in the 1-meter diving event and took 19th on Thursday.
