Marin County Vote Centers Open May 23 — How to Vote

Marin County Elections is rolling out more in-person voting options for the June 2 Statewide Direct Primary. They’re opening new vote centers all over—from Fairfax to Sausalito—and adding even more ballot drop-off sites.

This launch includes centers that opened in late May. There’s also a one-day Election Day site in San Rafael, and the Marin Civic Center location is staying open longer to help out busy families and commuters in our mix of communities.

Expanded in-person voting options across Marin County

Three more vote centers open on May 23, with another 15 coming online May 30. That means more access beyond just the Marin County Civic Center Elections office. Officials say they want to process votes faster, cut down on lines, and make it easier to fix any ballot problems before Election Day.

The first vote center opened May 4 in Suite 121 at the Civic Center and is open weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. If you need in-person help or a replacement ballot, you can stop by any vote center daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Residents from Tiburon to Fairfax and Mill Valley to Novato now have more ways to vote. The idea is to make things easier for busy families, seniors in Ross Valley, and folks living along the waterfront. It’s all part of a statewide push for flexible, walk-up ballot services in convenient neighborhood spots—think libraries, church halls, and those community centers scattered around Marin.

In-person vote centers opening May 23

Starting May 23, three new centers opened up so voters can cast ballots or get replacements without waiting on the mail. Here’s where:

  • Marin City – Senior Center
  • Novato – United Methodist Church
  • San Geronimo – Community Center

These spots join a growing list, making it easier for folks in Sausalito, Larkspur, Corte Madera, and nearby areas to get in-person help leading up to June 2.

In-person vote centers opening May 30

Another batch of centers opens May 30, spreading out across the county to meet local needs. Some examples:

  • Bolinas – Bolinas Community Center
  • Fairfax – Fairfax Women’s Club
  • Novato – multiple locations
  • Mill Valley – community centers
  • San Rafael – churches and health centers
  • Sausalito – City Hall
  • Tiburon – Westminster Presbyterian
  • And others throughout Marin County

Election Day site in San Rafael

On Election Day, there’s an extra vote center at the Albert J. Boro Community Center in San Rafael. It’s a familiar, central spot for voters in downtown and Canal-area neighborhoods who need last-minute help or want to drop off a ballot in person.

Ballot drop boxes, tracking, and key dates

Marin County is adding to its ballot-return network with eighteen official ballot drop boxes available through June 2. Several are at Civic Center locations, plus there’s a Middle Arch lobby box with longer hours to help speed up returns.

Voters should return ballots early if they can. If you have any issues, it’s a good idea to visit a vote center before Election Day.

Keeping track of ballots and finding locations

Ballot tracking is available through BallotTrax at WheresMyBallot.com. The county’s Voter Information Guide, mailed to registered voters, lists all locations and hours.

For more info, residents can visit MarinVotes.org or call 415-473-6456. Updates also pop up on @MarinVotes on Facebook and Instagram.

Local reporters in Marin County say the Elections Office and Marin communities—from Fairfax to Corte Madera—work together to keep the process transparent and voter-friendly as the June 2 primary approaches.

Marin shoppers, commuters, and longtime residents all know that having flexible, nearby voting options really matters. Whether it’s a quiet morning in Tiburon or you’re crossing the Marinwood loop in San Rafael after work, these centers are here to make things easier.

Maybe plan a quick stop at a vote center in Mill Valley or Novato. Or just drop your ballot in a box along the Civic Center corridor—either way, you’ll help keep the process moving for everyone in Marin County.
