From baseball diamonds to the track and field, even the golf course, our communities are buzzing with athletic energy. Redwood High’s baseball Giants, San Marin’s Mustangs, and Archie Williams’ Falcons are all clawing their way into the semifinals.

Individual standouts are making noise too, hinting at a strong Marin presence at State.

Giants and Mustangs Dominating the Diamond

Baseball fields have been battlegrounds this year. Redwood and San Marin are proving themselves as division contenders.

These teams have shown off skill and a kind of stubborn resilience, grinding through tough matchups to reach the semifinals.

Redwood High’s Unstoppable Momentum

Redwood High’s Giants just keep rolling in NCS Division I baseball. Jack Moseley led the charge to the semifinals with a masterful two-hitter against Petaluma.

He recorded four strikeouts and kept scoring low, which helped Redwood avenge an earlier loss and fuel their playoff run.

The Giants’ journey wasn’t just about Moseley’s arm. In the first round against Campolindo, they eked out a 5-4 win, with Wells coming through with clutch hits and RBIs.

Stellar pitching and timely hitting have become Redwood’s calling card. Folks from Larkspur to Kentfield are on edge, hoping this group can keep the magic going.

San Marin’s Dramatic Comebacks

In Division III, the San Marin Mustangs have made late-inning drama their trademark. As a No. 7 seed, they’ve pulled off a gutsy run to the semifinals.

Their quarterfinal against Analy? Pure nerve. The Mustangs scored twice in the seventh to force extras.

San Marin finally clinched their semifinal spot in the 11th, with Brady’s fielder’s choice sealing the deal. The next game, they exploded against Saint Mary’s, running up a wild 17-4 win.

Procopio, Baldino, Brady (again!), and Brown all chipped in at the plate. Novato’s got a buzz going as the Mustangs keep their playoff push alive.

Archie Williams Soars, Individual Stars Shine

It’s not just teams—individual athletes from across Marin are making waves at the state level. The depth of talent here is, honestly, kind of impressive.

Archie Williams Softball’s Balanced Attack

Archie Williams softball, another No. 7 seed in Division IV, is heading to the semifinals thanks to a true team effort. James smashed a solo homer, and Fisk delivered on the mound.

Their quarterfinal win over Tam was tense. Tam threatened in the seventh, but Murphy’s diving catch locked in the 5-3 victory.

That moment’s probably going to stick with folks in Ross and San Anselmo for a while. The Falcons have shown they can handle the heat—always a good sign for a team with title dreams.

Track and Field Stars Paving the Way to State

Several Marin athletes have punched their tickets to State with standout performances. St. Ignatius senior Ellie McCuskey-Hay qualified in four events after dominating the CCS meet.

She grabbed three golds and a silver, and winning the CCS 100 meters four years running? That’s just wild.

Redwood High’s Annalise Horn will represent in the long jump after hitting a personal best of 19’1.5”. Branson’s Farah Allen, coming back from injury, qualified in the 1600 meters and helped Branson’s 4×800 relay team win their section.

From Tam, Finn Harrington, Marley Cannon, and Johanna Friedrichsdorf also earned State spots in their events.

Golfing Excellence from San Domenico

San Domenico’s Oskar Valiauga just advanced to the NorCal golf championships. He shot a 71 and grabbed fourth place at the NCS Division I championship.

That’s an impressive feat. Oskar’s making waves in Marin’s golf scene and bringing some well-earned pride to the San Rafael community.
